Re: mneme
Joe Love, wise words, and I think you're right. I gave him that space when he needed it, because he needed it. The hardest part is that he didn't want then to keep the relationship, and wanted to look for someone else. I have to accept what he needed to do, however much that hurts. I have had to learn that this was more about him than it was about me. I just wonder how he could begin it if he wasn't going to stay in it, and all those are the sorts of questions I have to keep for counselling and prayer. Raking it over would only dismantle what's left, if there is anything - some affection is still apparent and I know he wants peace for me. Guess he doesn't quite see that he was my peace. You have to believe that when someone leaves you someone better comes along, although I'm finding that hard so am taking a long break from relationships. I have to learn to trust myself again before I'll trust anyone else.

Affording space IS very important in relationships--both new ones and older ones. I know that I don't wish to be smothered by anybody!!

Quite a testimony! I think we pick up skills along the way to help cope with the less favorable times! Hang in there, I know things will become the way you want through prayer! sam
