Outrageous! And Hansell is a moron! I read his piece in defence of this app, and shall just quote one reader's response:
'Mr. Hansel fits the proverbial description of the person who is “so open minded that his brains fell out.” Would he want KKK recruiting material on the iPhone? How about a NAMBLA app on how to have sex with prepubescent boys? Maybe an app to teach students how to take revenge on fellow students and teachers through mass murder. Those may even be tolerable to Mr. Hansel. But what about this: an app that glorifies the killing of NYT editors and journalists.
Apple had the common sense to take down an evil app. That’s not censorship. It’s good citizenship, or at least good business.'
