mneme
To tne question you have posed in the end, I could write a full blog, mneme. But that'll not be necessary. All I can say is that you found repose, even it were for a while, it is a good sign; reflection helps to heal. Wish you the very best, my friend.

Re: Okay, I'm just a little lost here . .
Sorry Joe - no, this was the man who wanted to marry me and then decided he couldn't. I don't blame you for being confused:)

Lead with your tits

Difficult to give advice in personal matters. But if you squeezed me hard, I would say: “Pick yourself off the floor of the ring, guard your chin and lead with your tits.”  (Only joking; see more of your son and daughter.)

Okay, I'm just a little lost here . .

Humans always manage to hurt each other sooner or later.  Some can mend the hurt, others are wounded too deeply and the scars are too obvious a reminder.

It happens. Time's a wedge between people, and little nothings.
You never stop wondering what went wrong, I find, but you quit worrying about it once the tranquility and self-assurance begin to reassert themselves. Peace is a good thing.
