Ah, but don't we humans love to complicate our lives and our love? It is often only when we are older that we realize this, and become mellow. I'm really enjoying your story. Have a good trip, and heed Vogue's advice

Re:
Even when we rebuild countries and remove all the physical traces of war the psychological ones remain. Humanity never seems to learn as is clearly shown by examples of ethnic cleansing that have occurred since. Thank you for your visit and enjoy a wonderful weekend.

I feel for Jacob and Rachel. How awful to have lived through the second world war as a Jew. we have a very popular Ancestry programme on TV, where celebrities search their ancestors. It's amazing how many lost ancestors in the concentration camps, and how upset and moved they are when they find out about the suffering their ancestors endured.

Re: writing from Istanbul. Vogue
Thanks for the info.Vogue. I doubt whether I'll have access to a computer whilst I'm in Turkey. But I'm going to write a journal (pencil and paper). It's going to be quite an adventure as for the first two days I'll be on my own. Wishing you a safe journey back home to Miami: East, west, home's best?

Hope you will write from Istanbul. The weather is better now, at least there is some sunshine, but don't forget a warm sweater and a rain coat as well as comfy boots to walk around.
