Re: mneme
Tempting, mac, only he never wrote any! He would never show anyone. I got a resolution though.. finally told me he destroyed them because once when I was distraught I asked him to.  Might have reminded me of that sooner... Strangely today I feel very calm.  We had coffee; I was more comfortable than he was! I take some comfort in that.

How about letting his new girlfriend see the letters HE wrote to YOU?

Re:
Taps you are such a sweetie.  I have to let him be free to do what he wants.  He's still the kindest, sweetest person I ever met.  He was mine for a while.  I know it heals eventually but I sure hate feeling this way.

Hey, thanks Ariala - I could, but it's her house honey, and I'm a guest.  Bit of a culture shock when we arrived in 1990 and found it was as hot as Miami but without the widespread a/c we'd been used to.  Makes you very happy to be in the car!

You know you have my sympathy, but in the end our hearts must heal in solitude...

I think I've been where you are. Not exactly, but
on that desolate island where we go after serious betrayal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you come out with financial independence and that you live very well from now on.

Well written piece, but I'd turn the air on and forget about your
environmentalist friends at this point!

mneme, this was very well written.  The whole thing hung together to make for a miserable time.  For one thing, I hate being hot and sweaty even if I am not emotionally miserable.  Too bad that you have to run into him at work.
