I have understood it to be the only type of love, used loosely, that some understand! It is perplexing to say the least! I have to believe it has to be self esteem issues that cloud the picture for those who allow themselves to be abused as well! It is wonderful that you recognized this early on and committed yourself to remaining out of it too! sam

I'll never understand that either. What really perplexes me is how women who are abused continually cower in fear. Just imagine what she could do for revenge. After all, she prepares his meals (rat poison), he sleeps next to her (the burning bed), he takes showers (Psycho), the possibilities are endless. Of course abusive men pick women that can freely abuse. Women who won't put up with it either leave or take more drastic measures. I hope Rihanna has sense enough to cut her losses. She has absolutely no excuse for being a perpetual victim. And I hope Chris Brown doesn't skate, but I have a feeling he will.
