I love those black spots
They are such a great way to deliberately cut yourself off from the microchip chains we daily forge for ourselves.  I know of two and sometimes walk in them purely to reconnect with what is real

That was like me when my phone was hooked up to my landlady's outlet.

I was in one of those "holes" once in the north of Spain for a week or so where, in order to pick up the signals for the mobile phone, one had to drive up to the top of Vulture Mountain which was a vulture feeding station.  Then, because of the raucous nature of the vultures, one couldn't hear the phone at all anyway.

this is delightful. I love the fifty years without needing it as that is so
how I feel. I have mine turned off all the time. It is only for emergencies.

Day off---Turn it off.
Call Me I've gotten so many wrong button calls esp. from my and Richard's nephew who has a Blackberry.  As the new Verison commercial says,  "Your butt called me."  Sometimes it is very funny to listen to what he is doing and other times it gets out of control with several "butt" calls in a row.  Then I call his land line and ask him to take his phone out of his pocket.

We get our cell phone signals okay, but we can't get cable for our computer. It is said we are too far away (about 4 miles but we think it is more like a mile) for the cable. We could, however, hook up to it for $27,000. What would you do? LOL

Oh yes. You did well
Its amazing how simple life is without a mobile.  For me, I do everything on the mobile and don't let it get to me.  I have voicemail and most of the day I have the phone on that.  When I am free I can listen to the messages and respond at leisure or not at all!

The way to get rid of that icon....
is to throw the phone in your purse and pretend that you don't have it.  One day without a phone can be refreshing. Know what I mean?  Blessings!

I don't have a land line anymore
My husband and I each have cell phones and that is it. It is less expensive and much more convenient. I am sorry about the 'black hole area'.

Maybe you have another message waiting...
Enjoy your walk!

I use mine all the time. Most people I know do not even have a landline any
more, just a cell.

I always want the most technical of all phones, computers, tv, wash machines, but to use them I always need help.  My phone is like yours I get shook up when it rings its usually my daughter, I text more than any thing

My eight year old granddaughter is a mine of useful information with regard to mobile phones! I often wonder why I bothered to buy one in the first place.
