Thanks Tex:)  I think they are having a hard time seeing me 'not myself' any more.  It will take time and I won't be rushed.

Re:
I bet you're  not Troosha (I won't tell if you won't tell)....   I am reaching that stage myself but really don't want to become as abrasive as my sister in full flow.

Family advice is akin to....
Dr. Phil or is it? It doesn't matter who you are someone always wants to give you their 2 cents in hopes that it wil help.  Sometimes, it boils down to no what a person says but how they say it that makes it offensive. Life is not always easy and some days it seems like we have our challenges and someone else's too. Chill, take a deep breath and work out of each dilemma facing you one day at a time. Best wishes!!

I suspect I’m older than you and I'm developing that “I am woman” attitude so when it happens to me I’m much better at telling people they haven’t a clue what they’re talking about or what I’m going through.  Takes practice though….

Thanks Troosha, and yes you did :)
That's pretty much how I felt.  I said more than once that I knew she meant well, but she was on her hobby horse.

mn
Although usually well-meaning, sometimes people spew advice that we want to just shove back down their throat.   Oops – did I say that out loud

Could it be your sis doesn't realize "snap out of it" is stupid advice?
Or that she is worried that the crap may just hit her fan next, and she won't be able to cope?  So if I've made any suggestions except hang in there, they were from an uninformed perspective and probably not useful. Hope things improve today...
