Good luck. I hope this one will be as successful as your present one. It will when people find it.

Maybe so. It's strange that I come here and interact with people from all over the country, even the world, but I've never said two words to the guy that lives across the street.

TAPS.
I wish I could go back and delete it, but alas, I cannot. Save my blog to your favorites and you wouldn't have that problem. :)

In recent years, I've become a political junkie. I eagerly watch every parry and thrust, every feint and counter-attack in the endless right vs. left fencing matches. I love it. However, I know there's more than that out there. I want to love the other human interest stuff just as much.

I know what you mean, but I'm not ready to go that far. While I could live without a TV, I'm not sure I want to.

Yes, it can be depressing, but it also serves a secondary purpose. Watching the news makes me realizes all of the things "wrong" with my life aren't really that bad at all. I don't have any problems, just a few inconveniences.

I couldn't agree more Talion.  Maybe we humans were happier in the media-free ignorance of days gone by, when the local gossip was about all the news going.

I don't know how many times I have read your "My Final Blogit Post" because I cannot seem to remember that you now have a _ at the end of your name.  LOL

When I worked for the local paper, we did features on local folks
on a regular basis, reported on the routine meetings of public hospital boards, school boards, city hall, etc. Our paper got lots of feedback on these WIGO (what is going on) stories that weren't just gang violence, drug deals, shootouts with cops, domestic violence, etc. Now these kinds of human interest stories are relegated to the "magazine" section, or CBS Sunday Morning type broadcasts. There's not a lot of new info on the news programs, mostly rehashed headlines, 5-second sound bytes designed to project the station's (or network's) particular point of view. I only watch the news broadcasts to get their guess on what the weather's going to do.

Amen! I want to hear what is right too! I am so tired of the TV that I had my dish disconnected! I am tired of the junk! sam

I agree...I can hardly stand to watch the news any more,
It is just way too depressing.
