Like you I loved having my son's pals over to our house - at least I knew where they were, and that they were not out on the streets with trouble finding them. Boys are so much more vulnerable, with the current climate of gangs and ethnic rivalry. When he was ninteen someone knocked him to the ground and I later took him to hospital when the eye swelled up alarmingly - a fractured eye socket. Well done to you for keeping your sons so close, just love them as much as you can and they will turn out fine.
I left the home (and the country) in December 2007 with my son't encouragement, the marriage had got beyond rescue and it was my sanity at risk. I would give anything to have those days back again. Guard your boys while you can, they are going to have a lot of years of responsibility ahead of them.
