Yesterday's post

Yesterday’s post certainly raised a number of disquieting questions about children’s welfare and parental failure. It seems that nowadays there is a tendency for children to reach puberty earlier than in previous generations; physical maturity is certainly not the same as emotional maturity. All this presents even greater challenges to parental awareness.

Thank you for your comments.

I don't know where things went in this direction where a baby is a real life person and needs care for more than 18 years, thats a long time to commit to. and thanks for mentioning my blog

The children have to understand their reponsibities before they
do such things and it is the duty of the society to help them understand what they need to understand .

It does beg the question “where are the parents?”  In each instance there can’t be much parenting going on.

Thank you for your visits and comments. It's snowing fairly hard, all the children are out making snowmen and having fun. Sad to think that some children leave childhood far too soon. I'm off to a meeting now, see you tomorrow.

I'm sure there were such things in the 50's - they were just swept under the rug!!  After all, Romeo and Juliette were purportedly 12 or 13.  And Sammy - there are Middle-School kids in the US having babies (babies having babies).  Sad situations.  Thanks for the post Elin.  Mal

My goodness! This is so young to be having sex! WOW! I wonder where the parents are in all of this! I know America has its problems with it but I don't think it is down to that age! I think American parents are way to lax anyway! But like you said never, say never! I will be back to catch up on your story later today! I just wanted to touch base! sam
