I think with most of the Buffies of this world it's ignorance, not ill will. Ignorance such as mine,(even though I actually know better) which made me forget until the last day to wish you a Happy Chanukkah...

I think that is part of the problem and the Buffies of this world
need to learn to cope with the fact that there are different religions and NOT EVERYBODY celebrates Xmas and just because we don't believe in Santa or the birth of JC, it doesn't make us socially and culturally deprived. That is assuming that because one doesn't celebrate Xmas, one is somehow lacking an important life experience.

I believe it is arrogance to assume that. I think it is time that people give other religions apart from Christianity, enough respect to realize that they are empowered in their spirituality without Santa and JC and the three kings whatever.

We have eight days of Hunukka and so I am going to 'arrogantly' feel pity for those who do not have Hanukka and cannot light candles, spin dreidels, eat latkes and jelly doughnuts, receive Hanukka gelt or pressies for eight days. You have my pity and guys only one day for Xmas OY VEY! Miskanim!

Oh,oh,oh. But, the buffy's don't mean any harm. Thanks for liking my South Florida - so called - painting and your lovely words. I hope you laughed at my fear of flying comment.

Gap, when you are a child and you have celebrated Christmas all of your life, it is very difficult to imagine someone not doing the same.  When I was young, I had a Jewish girlfriend that I secretly felt so sorry for and I used to get her a little gift and a Christmas card because I couldn't imagine another child choosing to not celebrate Christmas.  Eventually we grow up and realize that there are many differences and many choices.  Thank you for sharing yours with us in this blog.
