Benzinha,
It's too bad there are very few docs around like that anymore. Thank the insurance companies (HMO's) for that, too.

Re: spitfire, my favorite physician saw everyone, every time in his office.
This way, he saw skin changes, foot changes in diabetics, pain level changes and mobility changes. Wonderful man.

spitfire, my favorite physician saw everyone, every time in his office.
He sat at the desk, told you his one memorized stupid joke of the day, yellow legal pad and pen in hand and began asking questions, head to toe questions, told you to go get undressed in the next room. Came in and looked you over head to toe, head to toe, each time and then specifically focused on the day's problem.........
Amazing man, gone now, the best diagnostician in town. These are now rare doctors who do this.

I suppose the only thing worse than waiting,at least for a guy,
is waiting for the doctor to come in an hour later, lube up that digit, and say, "Bend over."
It's the doctor's office version of "Deliverance."
I guess you can tell how much I like going to the doctor, too, Young Miss...

Food4T,
How unusual! I bet if you had to see the doctor it would've been different!

It is hard for me to relate to this because my best friend is also my doctor. I have stayed at her house and had evenings in the desert in her hot tub! I would not like to go through any of the other stuff! sam

You know...
I had an appointment the other day at 3:00 and walked out the door at 3:01 (yes, the same day) but I was 15 minutes early and it was only a flu shot, no dr. involved so I suppose that doesn't count. And I spent 5 minutes visiting with the staff, its a small town and most of them know me.

I think they do it that way so they don't do the waiting.
i used to be somewhat impatient about doctors and waiting, until I was the one who needed extra care or urgent care, because they gave me that care. Later when I was well again I had to get used to waiting again.
But yeah, sitting around and waiting in gowns, that's not much fun. Hope you are OK, and it was nothing serious.
