Pat B, your pictureis very accurate
On top of this she is physically, mentally and verbally abused.  Rape is on the rise, especially child rape. Society has only experienced violece over the years and it will take along time to heal.  I ma hoping I can make a small contribution to this healing.

I may not have a clear picture of how life goes for an Afghani woman,
but I think of her as having little or no say in her own life. In my imagination she is kept from education, works as a servant for her husband, and is isolated from social contact with others. Anything you can do to make her life more open and independent is a heroic undertaking; only good can come of it. Thanks for letting us see your light. :)

benziha, what a lovely comment
It touched my heart, so. It's comforting to konw that you and others are out there, being able to see through and wih me, on my journey.  That the things that touch me, touch you and others.  That these things I chosse to do are not in vain, and they give and others so much pleasure.  Thank you for being.  A big hug!

Exactly what azur said. Sometimes I look around and I AM IT......there is

no one else.

Your story was touching and powerful, even in its brevity of explanation.....it is the connecting, the knowing that we are not alone, but in this together, quietly hiding a shared feeling, unknowingly holding back a wonderful solution or suggestion or previously walked path....

I am amazed at how deeply women can connect within days of opening up together.

Men can talk around tables for weeks and months and never know what hides within their fellow table attendees. It is when they form old drum circles and other old style things that they open up some.....

I am so proud of what women do for each other. Thank you for what you do.

It sounds very positive Greenfields
Funny isn't it how sometimes we see that it is us who is meant to help, and how this helps us in ways not easy to measure.
