Lucky you, vogue
In my younger days I always envisioned a financially secure situation that would indulge my travel lust, enabling me to visit northern climes in the warmer months and southern territories when it cooled off.  Though it didn't work out that way for me, I'm happy for you.  Besides, things change.  Someday my youthful dreams may yet come true.

Hi, BC-A
It's always good, and a unique experience to hear from you.  I stopped by your blog and found it as fascinating as always, even though I cannot appreciate its full scope due to the limitations of my near antique (by computer standards) desktop.  I look forward to the not to distant future when a substantial upgrade will enhance the experience of reading your blog.

Thanks, EX_TURPI
I do try to be extremely careful with my five space heaters.  Four off them are pretty reliable as a result of overheating protection, and two of those have tip-over protection, as does my el-cheepo $10 special that I use only for quick heating of small spaces.  I also continually remind myself that they are not designed to be run 24/7 and consciously try not to overuse any of them.  This means I bundle up for warmth a lot.  Thanks for reinforcing my resolve to be careful rather than toasty warm.  I don't want to end up as toasted notapoet.

You're right, sam
It does goose the electric bill, particularly in the cooler months.  Fortunately I'm on the waiting list to move into an apartment complex that utilizes a heat pump for heat and air conditioning.  It is supposed to provide a more comfortable environment at less than half the cost I now pay for electricity.  Unfortunately it looks like my number won't come up until sometime between mid-December and late February.  But I think this old bird can tough it out through most of one more winter.  Thanks for stopping by and expressing your concern.

Poor you, that sounds horrible. I hate, hate, hate the cold, that's why I follow the sun. Never ever a winter for me again. And I save a fortune on heating and winter clothes.

Be careful. Those space heaters can kill.

I am so sorry you have to use space heaters. It must kill the electric bill. Nice to catch up with you! sam
