I am terribly unpopular in political discussion
because I do not support democracy in it's current state - I believe we have governance by some people for those people. All our politicians of note are from the same social class and age groups and completely out of touch with the people. At least with a hereditary system there was stability and a less urgent need to grasp everything you can from the country.

Well most of the Dem leaders of some of the
most prestigous committees didn't vote for it either. Why? Were they scared of their own political careers? The Dems could have passed it without GOP votes. Why would Pelosi make such a partisan speech prior to the vote? The Dems knew it would make McCain look bad as some GOP members might change their votes. Before he intervened last week there was only 4 GOP members willing to vote yes.
What would Obama do??? Who knows??? Depends on mood of the day!!! How many tries does he get before he gets the right answer??? Why can't he commit to yes or no and only vote present??? Whose afraid???
By the way, with the loss of monies this past week, there will be no capital gains for Obama's health care plan. Why didn't he get more involved knowing the risk of the bill not passing????? Call him if you need him. That's real leadership!!!
