I have been self-employed all my life, first as an attorney (making a lot of money) now as a writer (making no money at all) but I would never trade the freedom for an employed situation. So, take heart.

There is no perfect job out there. There will always be something that holds us back, whether it's a co-worker we can't get along with or the boss is having a bad day. But, if you find something you like and stick with it, the rewards can be plentiful.
