Just a little confused Afzal about what this means in terms of your
relations with your immediate family as regards Sunny....

It's good to read you again my dear Afzal
it is our custom also to fast several times a year sometimes up to 40 days according to the religious holidays; I personally don't take this up for religious purposes only for internal body and mind cleansing; many blessings and thanks my friend

Afzal..
Maybe you could make another post, describing the process in more detail... like the timing of the fast... you will have people believing that you fast all day and night for a month, as you didn't really go into much detail.

Answer to some questions : a) Not a drop of water or grain of any kind or

food is allowed to be taken during the fast.

b) At the time of end of fast all good and halal food ( food that is useful and earned through hard labour ) is permitted to be taken.

Afzal, would like to know more about fasting, what is allowed and etc.,

i have never fasted.  Not long ago i worked with a girl that was fasting with her church group and it made her mean.

But i know that if you head and heart is in the right place, as yours is, you will be fine.

It should be added as a national American celebration as we Americans

could use fasting as we have grown much too too large for our old clothing and we grow larger daily. Fasting might keep us in our old wardrobe and give us food for thought.

It is difficult to sympathize with the hungry if you never are hungry for more than thirty minutes to an hour, as is true of most Americans.

I only know the feeling from a various of bad diets. It didn't bring me any closer to religion and it didn't help me loose weight either. I am glad that it gives you the clearity though

Afzal
You are doing so well, sweetie. It takes a lot of will power for someone to do this every day for a month, and I know you will succeed.

As for knowing about the want of food...I have learned that in my early childhood, as my mother never cooked, and much of the time I had to go without eating or eating junk food that was dense in calories but empty of nutrition.
