Me, I accept, accept distractions, but as the age clock ticks down the
hours, I am focused on the final jobs and dreams and wishes for myself and only accept distractions now, that were cherished and embraced in my youth.

benzinga, you are amazing!
I loe your spirit, wisdom and sense of humour.  Go for the external hard drive.  I don't know about the distraction part though - I love distractions.

Greenfields, I added my own extra RAM to my old computer !!

I studied youtube videos on how to do it and then studied what I should buy and then just did it. I went from a 512 mg memory to a 2 gig memory in four simple and easy minutes. So proud of me.

I really, like you, need an external hard drive to store all of my photos and music on. It would keep my computer emptier and faster........

So, I am now looking into external hard drives......

We older women can do anything with some instruction, some time and a cup of tea and no distractions. NO????

It is a big transition when suddenly we’re looking at a shiny new computer.  In reality, in functions just the same as the old one (only better) yet we find ourselves intimidated.  Enjoy the new “toy” and maybe hold off on the new handbag for a week or two.  You wouldn’t want to make too many changes all at the same time.

I imagine when the wheel was invented, there were countless folks
who were afraid of it, who wanted nothing to do with it, and proclaimed it would never catch on. You are in good company, Greenfields. :)pat

I'll have to upgrade at some stage for memory reasons too. I hope you adjust easily to the new machine.

All of my computer years (since 1995) have been like that.  Everything I have learned has been by trial and error and with trepidation.

Definitely, but I have found out, that the most difficult thing is to give yourself a push and actually tackle the task. As soon as I have started, I find out that things aren't so difficult after all and, when you have done it, you feel very GOOOOddd.
