we are all connected
All professionals make mistakes. In medicine, the stakes are about as high as they possibly can be, excepting perhaps in military operations or environmental/resource management; but medicine is more personal than the other two, so emotions run high. On balance, doctors and nurses help far more people than they inadvertently harm, but I imagine this statistic isn't much reassurance when confronted with the body of an unfortunate patient. It's hard, and I don't know how I would deal with that situation if I were in it, but you just have to keep moving on. We are all connected in various unseen ways. The ways that we see are just the tip of the iceberg.

Glad to see you back. I missed you.
Your blog is so well written that even though I am not a nurse, I thoroughly enjoy it. I have you as a "My Favorite," done the first day I read you. Thank you for sharing your compassionate heart.
