greenfields, I give things away daily to those who will carry them away.
I have made MP3s of my cds in a back up cd library and have given about 100 away most recently.
I have given books away for the last five years and gave away the last 100 that someone gave me last month, except for three.
I am an artist and need my visuals at a moment's notice and I love some words so much, that I cannot let the books go.
I have my grandmother's treasured books and pull one out occasionally and I have some of Mom's and Dad's.
I am down from fifty boxes of books when moving to about 15 and that is as small as I shall get the library. I have no t.v. so rereading books is my hobby.
I reread treasures and play my old vinyl records and do modern and new things, too. It's a balance of joys, no?

Funny that the friend who
is not freshening up her book collection is an interior designer. I keep all music on itunes so I just store what i am not into now onto the backup drive, so it takes up no space. i am about to ditch some books - that makes room for new ones
