Oh.. I think the Urban cow collection would be wonderful.

I am sort of afraid of cows to be honest. It's a long story. ~Peace, OTA

elysianfields, I'm glad that you find them beautiful too
They consume everything in sight!  But, in India, mostly what they can find - no speical feeds..scavenging and then foraging. What  a lovely sight you describe...

Greenfields...I so appreciate the sacredness of the Holy Cow and thank you for sharing this ~ When I go to the ranchers acreage in this hilltown of Texas and I see all his beautiful Longhorns and their calves and all around the hills there are cattle that just ramble and graze, I feel such a sense of peace.  I find them such 'beautiful' creatures.  I am glad he does not choose to 'beef' them and to sell them as such.  He just has these for beauty sake is all.  Magnificent creatures.  But yes, I do have to skirt around some mighty large chips -  and I think, my goodness what do they consume?  ~ Have a great evening.  Elyse

Azur, yes they are stories
and quite hilarous ones at that, as you can imagine.  I think its all in good fun and reminds us that no matter how sophsiticated or modern we are or think we are, this keep us grounded!

Thank you. I had wondered about the cows
It might seem odd to people from outside that the cows wander about and yet many people have too little to eat. I wouldn't worry about them in the street either. There must be some wonderful stories of cows getting in the way and blocking people's progress and how this put them in the right or wrong place at a particular time.

TAPS. I am pleased that this post brought back such
wonderful memories.  This is what I felt growing up. I also witnessed several births of calfs and thought it was so magical.  They were sweet and small and we enjyed playing with them as they grew up in our side yard.

Greenfields, I love this post.  It's been a long time since I thought about cows.  Auntie Evva loved her cows.  She lived outside the city on ten acres of land and her cows were her friends.  She loved to give away the milk and cream, the butter and cottage cheese that she made because she got much more than she could ever use.  She loved their big sad eyes and the way they would bawl when they saw her out and about.  How fun to remember the days and nights we spent in the big old farmhouse when we visited her.
