Just a little sharing..
Some of my teachers explained that..

Qur'an consisted of wordings that need to be explained further.. when it promised heavenly women for men, it was a sign about the same thing for women.. (some people argue that men need to hear things in exact wordings, while women prefers more subtle approach).

As for no marriage in heaven.. it went along the same way with other explanations about various things in life.. a lot of things that we consider important in this world will not be important anymore in heaven.. (such as working, eating, etc.) .. things that we need in this life will not be needed anymore in heaven.. (such as food, water, oxygen, etc.).. Therefore, either you translate there won't be any marriage as 'no marriage' or 'no sex' .. it won't be in the same 'urgency' perspective as we have now.

Islam teaches that in men-women relationship there is pleasure and responsibility.. A man takes pleasure in the company of a woman that he loves, in return he is expected to be responsible for the well-being of that woman and her children (be it his own or brought into the marriage by the wife).

At the same time, a woman takes pleasure in the company of the man that she loves, in return she is expected to give him and the rest of the family the comfort of loving and care..

In marriage, how men and women have to treat their families are clearly stated. While for couples who are not married, there are no rules (at least, not in the same sense).

I'm quoting an Australian friend about religion.. "When you practice a religion, you cannot only choose some part of it. You have to be willing to learn, accept and practice the whole of it. And when you choose not to practice any religion, there are still rules to follow".. Basically, religion is a way of life.. The way people can respect us is when we respect others and we follow the path of life that we choose consistently and responsibly.

I tend to agree with Taps,

I am not sure sex was created for pleasure, but for procreation.  The fact that it is pleasurable is so that it will be done.  It has been promoted and advertised as a measure of a man and woman.  Are you sexy enough, are you beautiful enough.  Its no wonder men and women become obsessed.

Will there be a need for sex in heaven, ????????, guess we will have to wait to see, but i wouldn't kill for it.

I think obsession is a problem and I am not sure it is religion
that results in it as much as some persons who interpret religions with a conservaive lens. On the other hand, to my mind, consumerist sex is also a problem.

This one needs  far more discussion. Yet, some of your points strike home.

I looked it up, Afzal, and this is the quote I was referring to in the Book of Luke in the New Testament, "... Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:  But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:  Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."   Do you think that means no sex or just no marriage?

Don't quote me on this, as I haven't looked it up, but I think the Bible says somewhere that there will be no marrying in heaven.  I guess that means "no sex?"  Do you think people will be happy in a heaven where there is no sex?

Our sexual right

We all have the drive in some form, some stronger than others. To give it up in the name of the Lord, must have been decided as it was such a big sacrifice and a true proof of your love. Right or wrong, it is still a choice that they can make.

In the cultures where genital mutilation is preformed on little girls to keep them pure (pure from what??) Without it she will not get married... and when she does get married, you can only imagine the pain. There is no right or wrong here - only wrong, wrong, wrong.

I've heard about this often enough....
I doubt that any Muslim woman would be quite satisfied with lovely ladies as a heavenly gift.
Just one of the many reasons that I don't believe much in religion.

Why would anyone assume we have a gender after death? Only our human bodies have gender. What purpose would gender or sex be other than in human form?

You cut dirty pictures out of library books?!   You are a CRIMINAL!   Just teasing.
This is another thing that gets me bent about religion, abstinence, and such.  It creates unnatural needs and desires when something is deprived.

And you are NOT sexually obsessed. Trust me...I've had 10 years of experience with the sexually obsessed.
