auslander, that must be neat to be able to pick your own berries for
your ice cream or a pie...you can here in Canada, on a limited scale....when blueberries are in season up north, yum.....

auslander, I fully agree with that special feeling of being able to forage for tasty things.  I know where the best blackberries grow wild here in the middle of the city.  It is worth fighting off the chiggers and the wasps to get a few.

I am so glad you are able to get a final bike ride in! That would break my heart the most if I were in your situation. I thought it was so cool to harvest as well. It does make the taste much sweeter. I am sad for you but there is excitement to come as well. GIANT!
