Yes.  One of the children I care for expects everything handed to her immediately.  She has a good heart, but her demanding ways are driving me crazy.  I'm looking forward to summer's end.

Her mother seems very down-to-earth, however, so it's hard to imagine all this egocentricity coming just from the home.  She even suggested that I not allow this girl to "test my limits".  So who knows?  A grandparent may be spoiling her?

Partly, I think it's the TV programming.  When I was a kid you had to wait for Saturday morning cartoons.  Now everything revolves around the kids.  I'm hard pressed some days to find something interesting and "adult" to watch.

I think some people are but others, like myself, teach their children more realistically

Sadly, I believe your mother is right, MandaLee.  Our children need to be taught the ways of God the Father...not the ways of self-indulgence and self-fulfillment.  Be blessed, my friend...it's good to see you again!

Kids need to learn the value of elbow grease! Pampered ones are the first to fall in strife in my humble opinion.  sam
