Tantriks are phonies! Nothing can help as much as your own guidance!

Afzal
Hey! What of my "stupid rituals"?

I don't "worship"... but rituals serve the purpose to focus the mind and intent...which is important in manifesting things in our life.

Without absolute faith "belief in what you are attempting", you will not be able to manifest anything....just all the negativity that would otherwise inhabit your mind.

Perhaps there's a balance... a faith in God and listening to our inner voice of reason.

For me there is only one true representative of any real God and that is the spirit that is nowhere but in your own mind and heart.  Your previous post seems to indicate the characteristics of this very real experiential God.  Rationality may get us out of the grip of idols and ghosts, but it can become a god unto itself.  I'd say follow your heart and mind in equal stride.  Take heart, although I cannot tell you how to live your life and will make you no promises and cannot save you from yourself, I can witness to you that there is a point of view that nobody can take you to, but can only point to it by telling you how they themselves got there and how it is experienced from various angles of approach, that is unshakable and from where everything makes sense.  It is a view that is at once empty of any particularities, overflowing with possibilities and indestructible.  I have tested it from many angles and have read and heard of many other attempts at answering lifes' most pressing questions and they all fail miserably.  Nobody can get you there but you yourself through your own effort, but if you do not seek, you will never find.  I am convinced that many have found it before, but sadly they themselves have then become idols and ghosts.  Even so, their teachings still hold all the pointers you need to reach this point of view, if you practice what they recommended, long enough.  I'm not talking about any specific rituals, for rituals without understanding and proper intent is worse than useless, they can bind you to false hope, as you yourself have found.  This is getting way too long for a comment.  I keep on doing that.  Good luck with your journey through life and keep on telling us what you find.  I enjoy your observations/confessions.
