Great story!
Contact at the 'human' level certainly helps! But real progress won't occur until we see a fundamental change of attitude on the part of the Muslim Arab political and clerical (often co-terminous) leadership throughout the Middle East...

What a great post, gapcohen. Thank you for sharing it. We need much more of that good stuff, instead of dwelling on the bad that we hear so much.

I agree w/ Norwood. We must look to our young people for long-term change. And, sadly..it's not something that will happen in our lifetime. It will take generations to change the mindset of those people (and there are TOO many to count) whose hearts are filled w/ hatred and vengeance.
(And, I must say here that I strongly feel that RELIGION is slowly this process down.)
Excellent, informative post Mal.

Mal one of the nicest people I taught English to in Israel
Was an Israeli Arab guy who is a nurse in one of the Jerusalem hospitals. Yes it will happen but they get so much propaganda fed to them it is hard to break through and pull down that wall of hatred.
We have to counter all the hatred and propaganda and once we do that we shall make real progress. The key is education of the young .....
