Ciel, I do feel I have to let go
I wo uld like to visit new stuff, if you know what I mean. I firmly believe that if I don't new things will not be opened up for me...

Greenfields...I understand your feelings - attachment so much...empathize greatly. Through many renovations and many moves - I have let go of so much --- and now as we're considering this change for our retirement, well, I opened up my antique shoppe and offer some pieces of mine at reasonable prices (chips and all) and the rest, I save as you for my family ~ I truly understand this

That's a lot easier than messing with eBay too, Greenfields.

It's nice to pass along some old favorites to friends
and family, to be a token of affection. I have always loved to have things that remind me of friends and family, and I know my kids value things that belonged to me after belonging to my mom and dad, or my grandparents. Our family has always lived far apart, so it can be really special.

Have you been talking to my husband? He's got a whole bunch of stuff he told me I could put on eBay. But, I send these to a woman who had two second hand shops. The proceeds go to a drug detox centre and an AIDS hospice she runs. I just put all the stuff in the car and send it to her. She also picks things up. I believe she and others needs the money more than I do. Yes?

Thanks. It is easy for me to let go, once I make up my mind to (talk aboout stating the obvious). And you know what? I never miss them because it's out of sight, out of mind for me. Once its gone, pfffffffffffff, its gone.

Greenfields, I enjoyed so much your description of those things. Sounds like you have some eBay possibilities (except for the chips of course. lol)

Aww....it's always hard to let go of things!! I know how that feels, I am a major scavenger and when I need to "de-crap" I find I don't do it enough because I end up with the same amount of crap as I started with. I find that when it comes to moving from place to place for me however, it's easier to get rid of things....no I take that back, it's not easy, but I do, because I don't want to carry them around anymore.

You will probably noticed one of two things when you let things go: 1) you will suddenly have a need for it, not have it, and make do with what you do have (or buy something new) or 2) you will never think about it again. My thoughts are on the latter. I hope it works out!!!
