Wow
What disparity in this country! $500 wouldn't even buy a space for my CAR in NYC for the month!

Re: Smoke alarms!
Sam,
I always remove the batteries, too! I just HATE being awakened at night, by loud noises! HA! HA!

I don't know why she doesn't make more as well. lol Her biggest disappoint is taking the batteries out of the smoke alarms, like you said wtf, they disregard their own safety! ouch! sam

Soulman,
Knowing that, and why rents are going up everywhere, I am mystified why I have such a hard time finding and keeping, good renters. I am not one of these hard-assed slumlords, do not conduct inspection tours, or get all exersized when I see that minor rules are being violated, etc. My rural, quiet, attractive two bedroom, fully carpeted, house, w/full basement, garage, +90% efficiency furnace, well insulated walls & windows sits on five wooded acres, w/pond, bordering on one side with a year-round trout stream, good rich, black soil, fruit trees, grapevines, outbuildings, etc. I charge $500 a month. A whole winter's heating costs $400! As many bloggers so eloquently put it, WTF!
