Sorry for your mom's illness. At least she is alive for now. I miss mine
so much. There is no other relationship likened to child and parent.
I'm especially sorry for orphans who never know the love of a true mom.

Sweetheart,
I'm so sorry that this visit was so difficult and rough on you. Your mother wanted to be present, and that is a good thing that she got to be there.
I understand your feelings, but in situations like this, sometimes there is no "right time" for something to take place.
I do hope that the ritual was still a success and the poor were still fed. God understands these things, I'm sure.
Regardless of the setback, I'm sure your mother is quite happy that she got to be present during such a special occasion.
The past is no more, the future is not here...you can relax now and just try to enjoy the present moment as much as you can. My heart is always with you.

Thanks for sharing one of your traditions with us. As for your mother, I'm sorry that she is not well but it's difficult to tell an elderly person to "slow down" particularly if it has been their nature to be active. Sometimes
they simply know their time here on earth is limited and feel they might as well stay busy and live life the way they always have. Slowing down can sometimes be viewed as defeat.....

Afzal ~ Good morning and I am touched by your blog here. You had so much experience that stressed you. I pray now for your peace and that above all, your mother will rest and be more 'quiet and still' --- but she sounds like she has a strong will --- strong 'nature'...I am so glad you were there to support her. Take good care of yourself now, my dear writer friend ~ Elyse
