Afzal, you have made me ashamed that I have so taken it for granted all these years. It came so easy for me because it is the language of my birth. I have seen how difficult it is for people who come to this country as adults. My own grandmother from Czechoslovakia (Now The Czech Republic) never became fluent in English. She barely learned enough to get along in public reverting to Czech at home.

And you write it so well my friend. Do you know what's ironic
about this? When I was looking for employment I was not qualified for many of them because I am not bi-lingual ... I can only say curse words and a few other insignificant words in Spanish! The other day I was trying to ask my porter about something and we were both totally lost ... the lead maintenance man said to me, after I was walking away frustrated, "you really need to learn Spanish". OMG, I turned around and said, "NO, HE needs to learn English!!" But I digress, lmao ... good post!

Afzal ~

~ I just love this blog of yours. What wonderful poets and writers you have read and how utterly divine that you chose English as your major in language. You speak beautifully and you write most wonderfully...You have confessed straight from your heart with such lovely dialogue and this blog is of most interest. Thank you so much for sharing.
