But with that said i understand your point.
There should be no game playing, and all people deserve good food, shelter and the basics that we need in life. I just don't think i will see that in this life time, but perhaps in the next.
Don't think i am giving up, just not playing in the dark sides yard anymore.

Soul i am too old to play the game, cannot run uphill any longer.
I wonder if all the souls out there young and old got as tired as me of the game, if they would also stop playing even if it meant just squeeking by, by the way it was what i was doing all my life anyway, what would happen?????
I can find ways to enjoy my life just as much as if i had a million dollars.

Ah, we would all strive for perfection in an imperfect world.
The dark ones outnumber the light souls 10 to 1. Shall we assume there is perfection in living comfortably without impinging upon the rights of others in so doing? Such has the debate raged for generations and no answer is in sight. The answer is different all over the world, as well. We think of perfection in a material sense when the majority of the world lives in dire poverty (by American standards), some in misery and others in happiness despite their lowly caste. Dave, this is a fine and thoughtful essay and warrants deeper introspection by us all.

™ re: "winners have no peculiar qualities or talents to explain their dominance"
This is not the case, in fact there is one quality among most "winners" it is believed that that one quality seems to be that they finish what they begin!
Most cultures reward winning even if they have the cheat to ge the victory, however sad this may be, those who are deemed the "winners" in all sports must finish all the way to the finish line.
How we get there has changed indeed. When you can not gain victory against the cheaters and lies, it seems that true "winners" come into a social space to make a case, and often in those places so far as I can tell others identify with the quest to finish the race- and in those cheers the person has a victory that we have not even started to understand as a culture. The online social spaces may have shifted the power plays, the way this shift has happened is complex indeed. ( I will not bore you with the details) However, it is critical to note, that the ability to achieve victory over those in power begins with a re-working of the identity that an entity had victory or power over. As this identity shifts, so too does the power over the individual, and as they practice the new found power, they learn how to TAKE power from existing entities-
In many ways it reminds me of that game "PACK MAN" if I had to make up a game to explain it all it would look a lot like that game, but there would be a multitude of factors that create "food" and chances to advance in the game that reflects this concept.©

For me this is a classic example of their riches on earth. They are the few, and like you so aptly cited over and over (and I would guess you had to finally end the references to save your sanity), so cunning in their control; after all they have had hundreds of years of success. sam

Social Construction- the rise out and up
Dave,
There seems no way to explain to the masses that they are masses without assuming a role or identity that they admire, respect, or can identify with. The flaw, however here as I can see it is that individual will to rise is not as strong in some as it is in others, in addition there are many who can and do, put a "wall" around self, and achieve a goal in spite of all that seeks to hold them down, scew them over, or stand in the way of that journey!
People when pressed hard and long enough REACT, in one way or another- some direct those reactions in a manner that makes those in power re-think what they are doing, and by default it is the oppressed in power since they cause the reaction of making existing power "re-think" a position, or actions.
It happens rarely in our culture, but we do tell our children this is who we are as a people, and we here in the USA need to hold this as a core belief, because resting there we have a false belief that everything is just fine- ©
To rise after oppression, is not an easy task- the webs in place to keep people down- extends beyond that which we write about in textbooks!

Social Space brings those two world into one place!
"They look forward to the day when they cease to be a minority, to the day when cooperation will be the presiding pattern in human existence and to the day when compassion, not greed, will be the accepted norm of relating to the world."
This day has come, no need for them to look forward to it anymore!©
