I'm sure there's no Ken Mohammed dolls, either, Naut. Because then they
would have to sell packets of toy rocks to stone Burkha Barbie with when she responds naturally to her mate. Of course, you can't stone in a vacuum, so this would drive up the sales of Burkha Brats and other figures to do the deed. In the end, capitalism wins and helps sharpen Iranian socialization skills...

We never had doll's at my house since my progeny were males. Only action figures were welcome. Barbie was especially anathema. Sara and Dara would have fit right in, being blow-up toys.

Get out of here! Explosive belts??? I hope you are kidding. (
I have problems separating humor from reality as you can see) Berka Barbie I can believe...though I doubt Mattel would oblige... They are not godless dear, they just have a different god... and adore it in their own "special" way, "Special" as Church Lady in Saturday Night Live used to say it loll. Well Great post anyway...

I guess it really doesn't matter if a society rejects the toys from someone
else's society especially that horrible Ken doll. I always was worried about him I've never met a guy who always managed to look that perfect I must say. I mean when you emptied his pockets before putting his clothes in the wash one never found anything uncommon like a toads leg, or a few nails, string. or even an attempt at poetry. Let 'em keep themselves to themselves I say but don't try to sell me anything either.

I love reading this blog. I never cease to be amazed at the contradiction of thought and action of these people. They would rather kill you than look at you. Then they are so concerned at the thought of contaminating their children with the ordinary. My daughter took after mother and is short, far from physical perfection, but she is pretty and smart. She has plenty of self confidence, charm and kind consideration and man she loved Barbie. Go figure, maybe it is because she is an American and a Christian.

The comments in this blog are as entertaining as the excerpts! I never liked Barbie....but she and Ken could be valuable secret enemies....destroy 'em from the inside....divide and conquer.....let their young take over their culture and turn everything upside down......Hey! Do you think the whole suicide thing is really the way the older guys have stayed in power all these years....getting the younger ones to...... Nah, just a flashing thought......

C'mon Naut - own up... this can't be true (but I never can tell with you):
"
Dara and Sara come fully equipped with explosive belts, as does Batman. As for Barbie, the only version available in stores is Burka Barbie..."

Actually, I've always thought Barbie and her ilk are culturally dangerous
as learning tools for acquisitiveness and shallow values. Plus, which they can be damaging to a less than perfect girl's self esteem. However, I have to admit my little girls who loved Barbie grew up to be sensible, well-grounded women.

My oh my! You find the greatest excerpts! I can't imagine Barbie and all her styles taking a back seat to Sara, etal. Although a 'sheik' Ken would be a sight and something that could be smuggled to the U.S. sam
