the lack of cell phone courtesy is a serious menace. I guess class issues are serious - more so in some parts of the world than others.

Azur, lucky you
I wish I could exercisewhere I don't hear people. Actually, I do have peace when I am swimming, if the teeny boppers are not there!

Self-centered folks drive me up a wall. It is so distasteful to speak loudly on the cell phone in public. I don't care to hear it and yet they talk as though I do. We just don't know people. Some with money and their ridiculous sense of entitlement to the point where good, hard working people are reduced to servant status to garner a tip is so sad. I enjoyed your observations of the folks in your passings. sam

I overheard some fascinating conversations
duing my recent stays in hospital. So much so that I wrote a short story based on them.
I don't overhear much when I exercise as I walk in the hills near my home, and there is little to overhear.

elysianfields, so true
yes, it's great to be home, in my sanctuary. Unfrotunately, one has to interact with the world out there. I keep reminding myself that it's my expectations that people will behave differently that are a problem. However, I also know that there are some norms for decent behaviour. However, people have been raised differently and some level of tolerance is needed. Yes?

Ah Greenfields, a day of being among 'society'...yes, I do have times, minutes, days like this. I stood patiently in line today, (in a rush myself) and wouldn't you know when I get up there, the checkout person has to run an errand...I wait...but beginning to tap my fingers and look behind me and this woman, exasperated (when there were several more lines open) and she just went on and on and on and degraded this poor checkout person to no end...and I got more antsy...I wanted to tell her, to go before me, but you know Greenfields...I decided NO...let her stew, let her come to grips with herself --- Finally when the checkout person came back to me...she had to run off for a price check...

...oh it was fun to watch the next charade...made me aware more of how I should remember always, to take deep breaths and certainly not act out the way she did. People are amazing - they do treat others, humanity with such incredulous superiority and degradation even... I really appreciate your blog here ---arrogance, bad attitudes, prejudice --- etc. and cell phones make me neurotic as well.
