I was deeply disturbed by your totally unwarranted comments to me and Kabu. I'm understanding, so this time I will accept. I have also requested that Kabu not pursue it. You will have to prove you are sorry by not repeating. If you do, I will block you! Thanks. Stay sober!

Re: Hello I'm back home and full of life and nonsense.
Kabu. I apologize for the remarks by patmanplus. He has apologized to you and me! I think he should be given a chance to prove he means it. We have the most WMDs here! It qualifies you to be world policeman. If you want only one, the police mess up your country. Its ok to want a lot, but not a little! THanks!

Thanks! Its a shame that some have so few prospects in life and choose to join up! No wonder they let the economy crash...to make soldiering lucrative!

Sam, Elyse, Soulspeaker!
I agree for there to be a peace out. Thou shalt not kill, especially in a war created for oil acquisition. Soldiers hire on to kill. People are inveigled to join up...by hefty sign up bonuses, good pay and free college education. These like most material offers are convenient temptations for soul-selling. The after effects on the soldiers are very devastating... DU radiation that  causes illness and defects in offsprings,  bad physical and mental health and broken family life. Of course many die or are maimed. Many are refusing to join up and recruiters have a hard time on college campuses. People are seeking amnesty in Canada. The good work of Anti-war activists like Cindy Sheehan, has gotten the truth out to many Americans. Check the polls and you will see that disapproval of Bush and Cheney, disapproval of the Iraq war etc are now way above 50%. They lied. It seems to be a war for oil. This is supported by Peak Oil theory that states that oil is running out because a limited amount was made from olden vegetation. This theory is contradicted by the Abiotic Theory that says that there is no shortage, that oil is not made from vegetation but by other processes, ongoing in nature. They point to wells that replenish as their evidence. In any event, the status quo does not want to give up their heavy investment in oil. The Arabs only have the oil. All the extraction, transport and refining is done by the SEVEN SISTERS, the largest oil companies. Everything about oil is their doing, from the energy crisis to now. But they love to create spin that hides their activities. Such that, Shell and BP made about 14 billion dollars profit in the first quarter. There is no shortage of oil, or food for that matter.  Its the bigwigs doing their thing from the futures markets to the pumps!

"It has to do with oil, money and power. Is this important enough to the richest country in the world that its leaders choose to snuff out or waste the lives of its youth--its future leaders? --or do those in power consider the middle-class, the poor and underprivileged to be "not leadership-quality" and less important...only pawns--those in the front line of the battle in a strategic game of global chess? Thank you for sharing. Peace, blessings and understanding.~SS"

Dear SoulSpeaker, in comment, if I may say across Dave's blog, I agree with you that this is an entirely senseless, horrible travesty and a distorted falsification to the most utter extreme.  I cannot agree more.  I get emotional when talking about all this...forgive me and I simply agree with all that we must pull out but, I am just a small voice --- and I do Honor those whom are sacrificing their very lives for their strong 'convictions' no matter what I feel or anyone else...I just pray that God will have His way --- His will be done. This is such a sensitive subject universally and it brings 'fear' to many (to all and for all) and with fear comes emotion(s).  Is all ~ Peace and blessings to you Soul Speaker and yes, understanding. ~Elyse

Dave ~.~
...this is a most interesting topic.  I have read the comments of others and would like to add my thoughts on the subject, just briefly.  I understand that the recent wars have been fought by U.S. youth who volunteered to serve; and I respect their decision. However, although every war that the U.S. engages in is purportedly entered for "the sake of freedom and democracy," this current war has nothing to do with freedom or democracy, and we all know it. It has to do with oil, money and power. Peace, blessings and understanding.~SS

Re:

"The world just needs to peace out! sam"

This said from a woman, from a dear mother --- whom wears a badge of honor and respect for Sacrifice.  I pray that all will please respect those whom are in the line of this horrific battle ~ Please don a heart of sensitivity and bring more shades of esteem and certainly humanity --- for the sake of Love, ~ please God, help us be more "consciously aware" of what our intentions are for by claims against/for humanity's strife.

Enough said, I pray with Sam, that we definitely pray for peace! ~ Elyse

I don't lke it when the 'big wigs' protect their own either, but this is a volunteer service. The problem with poverty mades the service enticing as well. My son is a soldier and we know that he may be killed or maimed; we have accepted this as part of his decision. I don't like his decision but I respect it. I wish the woman would have placed her letter in the hands of the President or Congress. To me, going at Laura Bush serves no purpose but satisy the woman handing it over. If L. Bush had sons I would feel differently or if the lady had lost a daughter it would be different to me as well. War sucks and I have spent many sleepless nights myself. My son is still alive and I am fortunate. My family has served in the military in every war, it doesn't mean that much to me but I can't help but feel that part of my son's decision was to uphold the f--- family tradition which I find stupid as well. Sometimes I wish my son were a sissy but that is idiotic as well on my part. The world just needs to peace out! sam

I know what you mean.  It's pretty sick that they have no problem sending our children, but keep theirs under lock and key!  I don't think that will ever change though.  So, we may have to find a way to just deal with it, and keep our own children from signing up to help the cause that "THEY" initiated!

Dave, you have some interesting blogs, and I don't enter into political rings much --- however, there is something I have to say ...I realize the horrible pain a mother, a parent suffers from the horrific tragedy of a son, or daughter --- going off to war and battling and coming back in injury or even trauma.

However, I have a hard time understanding how we can keep touting all this - or ramrod the decision from the politician's and such, when we still have children, sons and daughters over there 'fighting' for our country...or fighting for what (they) chose to fight for...their beliefs, their convictions.  There was not a mandatory selection  (as of Vietnam) I can't say much more on this...but it all boils down to 'choice'...and in America, we have 'choice' freedom to choose and these SOLDIERS, these Warriors, God bless them ~ have 'chosen' to battle - to protect - to serve and I respect and honor them to the highest degree that my heart can express... I just feel badly when I see constant reports on 'war' --- unless it is to 'pray for our troops' or to support our troops.  However, enough said, write on! ~  and peace, Elyse

war is a horrible thing.  Is it ever necessary? I doubt it.  Maybe we should go back to the times where the Alfas would fight it alone in the center of the circle and who ever won , his followers won.  and viceversa.  Hmmm,  Picture Bush and cursed Osama going at it in a ring... it would not last long I am sorry to say that osama, white beard, no kidneys and all would probably make ground meat of our leader.  Sad but truth.  I don't think Obama can take Osama either...too skinny,  but Hilary,  well that is another matter :-)

I don't mean to make light of such a sad subject matter,  I have the outmost respect and admiration for all the kids that are giving their best and their lives for us there .  sorry, and write on :-)

Today the REv. Jeremiah Wright reminded America of his 6-yr mil service
And responded to one "sound - bite" question at the National Press Club with: My 6 years in the military, 4 of which were in the Marine corps, makes me less patriotic than the president and vice-president. How long did they serve? The audience giggled and then burst out laughing as the comparison sank in. SHALOM and Sitaram Bhaijee
