Soul Builder,

I find everything about the Bible interesting. There's no other book that compares to it. Thank you for your comment and drop by again.

In a story that I've posted down on my blog, my caveman character Rocky Stonehead meets Noah on the ark. I believe in creation.

Taps,

I'm looking at the NKJV here. Yes, I can imagine it being a hippo, but hippos don't have tails 'like a cedar' as said in verse 17 of Chapter 40. I also thought about a extrememly large croc or gater as being the beastie. I will also check out some different translations.

Keshet, A couple of modern translations identify it as the hippopotamus.   With its barrel-shaped torso, enormous mouth and teeth, hairless body, stubby legs and tremendous size, I think that's Job's name for it is appropriate.  It can easily outrun a human and is among the most dangerous and aggressive of all animals, and are thought to be Africa's most dangerous animal.  Whatever it was, Job definitely had respect for it.
