I know the feeling. Perhaps not the exact same, but I can empathize. I've learned to let them have their way and just deflect all the anger and resentment into nowhere and just do the things that make them feel cared for. I'm far away from them now and miss them. This reminds me of: "I never promised you a rose garden". Roses have thorns and the Moon and stars shines brightest when you are looking up from a dark pit.
