Re: Samantha
I hope they will find some workable medication. Actually I hope they will find a cure.

Sira890 I do appreciate your words of consolation. I wish they would do some studies for those women to follow. I know now this is what my mother had that they never found a diagnosis for. Thank you, you are so kind.

Oh Justi, I'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling well!
I know a woman who suffers from fibromyalgia, and I've seen the pain that it causes.
Take care, and don't pay any attention to the people who say "it's all in your head". They're not in your head, and have no idea what you're going through.

Re: Justi......................
If I may add, Justi. I suffered with severe Polyneuropathy for months before I found a doctor who knew by the symptoms what it was. I was at my wits end with pain. My ignorant doctor treated me for Depression, of which I knew was wrong and refused to take the anti-depressants. My husband fired her and the next Intern I saw referred me to a neurologist who started treating the problem. He has not been able to completely take away my pain, I have it all the time, but he saved my sanity and made life bearable. My heart goes out to you, dear lady, and don't we wonder, "why us?" I know pain and you have my prayers.

I sure hope you're feeling better, Justi.
This sounds really quite bad! There's so much that medicine does not have a handle on yet...

Justi, a month or so ago I wrote a blog post about my niece who suddenly collapsed and died. She was barely 50 but she had been suffering from Fibromyalgia for years after even more years of doctors trying to find out what was wrong with her and
if there was something wrong with her. Some doctors thought it was in her mind. It was not the fibromyalgia which killed her. The autopsy that authorities insisted on to rule out foul play showed that it was a combination of drugs that caused her to stop breathing. She was on a morphine derivative for the terrible pain, other prescription medications for high blood pressure, and then she came down with a really bad cold for which she began taking OTC pseudoephedrine without first contacting her doctor. The drug combination was having a bad effect on her and then she got confused and took more pain medicine too soon. You probably don't need to read all this but, I thought it might help others who do not know about fibromyalgia to understand what someone with the diagnosis might be facing.

I understand. No one can find the source for my migraines and it is frustrating. I am glad it is now more open with the doctor's testament! sam

Justi......................
I have a friend with it and it's nothing to scoff at. She is just plain miserable. I believe the doctors are prescribing Lyrica to help ease the pain. I think I read that somewhere. Well, it's a controlled drug but if it works, it's worth it. Whatever you're taking for it, I hope it works and that you're feeling ok. I believe a shorter life with comfort is better than a longer life with pain. Whatever works!

Somewhat like back pain...
In that you suffer it, but no one else can see it affecting you. Only fellow sufferers feel sympathy.
