You speak volumes! I had a rough time, but I did everything in my power to give my kids a decent childhood and support in their young lives after graduation. sam

I decided early on ...
to raise my children (ages 6 and 4 now) much differently than my parents raised me and my brothers and sister. And guess what! I am succeeding every day. I can forgive my parents for their trespasses against me while growing up ... NOW ... but I could not understand it when it was taking place. I witnessed a hideous relationship (and still do) between my mother and father ... and I want to show my kids that there is no situation that we cannot get through ... as a family, with love, respect and understanding. One thing I NEVER want to do is hurt my children, knowingly. I love them more than anything in the whole wide world!

It's very true what you say
that's why in healing work we say, 'I love and forgive my parents because they did not know any better' and very often this better is because of the way they have been raised and their life experiences. Love and forgiveness are the two most important ingredients in healing. It's great that you were able to see this.
