you hear the same thing in Australia too. the scots and the welsh never lose their accents either (i'm happy to say), even after 50 years.

In Canada, UK immigrants who came here 50 years ago still mean the UK when they mention home.

You reminded me of Mars bars...we were 10 in my family and we had to share one when it was bought...I savored my little piece...ah yes... LOL, this was a fun read.  Thanks for the memories ~ and for the retreat Elyse

 I remember cartoons of Mars Bars came in to a newspaper office I worked at. They were sponsors for the Olympics and they sent the 'health food' into us at the sports desk. Too  sweet for me and far off the diet now due to recent health issues

"No place like home" is right.  I don't think I have ever eaten a Mars Bar.  Back in the days when I ate candy bars, my choice was always a Milky Way.   Great things those Milky Ways. I always ate the top caramel layer off first.
