Bush and Bush (and they're talking about Jeb running in 2012 or 2016).
Then there's Clinton and Clinton. There hasn't been a Kennedy in the mix for over a decade, but there's a horde of them in various political positions throughout New England and in Washington. Yes, Virginia, America has its dynasties...

Bush, then Bush, which one will be next? Let's hope they are done!

It has been happening, SEEDLINGS, a la the Bush and Clinton clans, the
Browns in California, the Kennedys in New England, etc., etc. Political domination and dynasty are just as American as they are Cuban, Russian, English, etc.

Still, Naut, he seems to be a more of catch than Fidel. Or am I just being
shallow?

You're doing just fine, notapoet. "To thine own self be truth." Or
something like that. Thanks for the compliment. I try to make these quotes fair game for thinkers and I appreciate the comments of those, such as yourself, who think and appreciate thinking as well...

I wouldn't count
on it not happening here...for look what's happening at this very moment, the unthinkable, the unheard of, a woman and a black man running for the president of the U.S.!

Indeed, how could such a thing happen in the good ol' U. S. of A?
I rarely listen to late night talk shows anymore, though I do occasionally give Craig Ferguson a watch. His biting wit mixed in with much silliness and the obligatory celebrity guests is worth more than the price of admission. This is another out of a page full of quotes I'm adding to my personal favorite quotes notebook. I stopped by to catch up and my reading and found myself wanting to put my two cents worth, and stamp of approval, on each and every quote you cited. Since I have a bad case of "running off at the mouth in print" and a lack of time, I settlled for comments on this, the first, and the last on this page for now, "the illegal immigration" quote. I've got to spend more time reading and less time running off at the mouth in print.
