People are formed by their genetics as well as their environment. If you look at the devil and see good, is the devil good? And if you look at the cevil and see evil, are you evil?

Re: soulbuilder101
Lustor I can't say! Everyone has these 2 sides, seeing one side is not good. You can be fooled! Thanks!

You are right! Callista once mentioned the same kind of experience. There is that kind and the plotters and schemers, among others! Thanks!

Thanks! If the dice is loaded, the freedom of choice is not really real. It becomes theory.

Soulspeaker.
Thank you. Most people have lost their awareness to the dark side. They would rush to grab it if they knew that, and if they knew that the dice is loaded. Some of that is coming up! Thanks again!

Re: You've made me very sad.
Thanks Notapoet! Thank you so much for your words of appreciation. I love doing this too. There are crummy issues in every aspect of my life to be straightened out. I am trying to get that done. I expect to relocate too. I need to draw a clear line between past and ongoing present. Hopefully the decision will stand. There's much more time to go. Lets wait and see!

Re: Perhaps its not a case of not seeing the evil we are surrounded by
Thanks Mariaki! Your quote from the Vedas said THOU ART THAT! The original words are AUM TAT SAT. This is the problem. People have become so many things, pulled and tied into so many things that they are not aware of the soul within. They have stopped being soul! Then they start to look, not within, but in external circumstances. Wrong place!

Thanks Taps. Your observations are correct. There is, however, the world of soul being edged out of existence. More on this later!

I take the tree of knowledge of good and evil to be morality
... which is sought by those who lust for earthly power, that is mammon. Against this are those of sacrificial love who do good no matter what evil is done to them.

plenty of evil around
I think we can even feel when an evil soul is approaching sometimes. One man in particular, I felt evil all around me once and turned to see, and not far away was a man struggling with something, anyway, the closer he got, the stronger this feeling became until I had to just leave. I could be wrong but if we stay in tune, maybe we can feel first.

Dave ~
I believe we were given freedom of choice so that we could discern the difference between good and evil. If we do not acknowledge that evil exists and have some idea of it's modus operandi, we are simply stumbling around on the edge of a cliff -- blindfolded! I thoroughly enjoy your blog and will truly miss it if you decide to discontinue it. Thank you -- for what you've shared and, hopefully, for what you will continue to share!

You've made me very sad.
Not with this post, but with your decision to leave us the end of March. Because of my own recent absences from Blogit I've just recently discovered your intention. I would prefer that you stay, but would be the last to dissuade you from your personal convictions. As I've told you before, I rarely comment on religious and spiritual posts even though I am a frequent reader curious about the beliefs and practices of a wide variety of people. It is not necessary for me to agree with someone in order than to respect their beliefs. But I've learned over the years to avoid arguing religion with most people.
I'll miss your passionate prose and the necessity to think long and hard about what you say as much as I'll miss your frequent comments on some of my blogs. Please do stay in touch, or leave me an address at which you can be reached. I might enjoy discussing religion with you on a one-to-one basis, and I know I'd enjoy swapping a few jokes.

Perhaps its not a case of not seeing the evil we are surrounded by
but more a case of not dwelling on it and concentrating more on all the good things in our lives; thank you my friend - this was very interesting as always

I like the way you describe the internal life.
The evil in the world is driven by self-centered, flesh driven people focused on their material goals each with their own form of addiction. I believe that satan definitely works to encourage this behavior. To deny that evil exists is equivalent to submitting to it, satan definitely does not mind.

How can anyone fail to see that there is evil in this world? It is here, everywhere. Just look at the faces on the TV news of people apprehended in the committment of vile acts of violence on others. I think that perhaps the command to "overcome evil with good" meant that we should overcome the evil thoughts within within ourselves by focusing on the good. Its kind of difficult to show forth goodness to someone who is in the act of doing one harm.
