Me, too, Sira
Though I usually don't add the sweater or other outer garment till late October, and don't discard it till late March.  I have to be able to keep the hands and feet warm if I'm to work and act like a civil human being.  Thanks for reminding me that spring is almost here.  Pollen and hay fever bedamned, I love spring.  I also loved your post about libraries enough that I left a rather lengthy comment for you.

Slippers and Sweaters

I wear them all day, every day, from September to March. I, like you, simply can't function if I'm cold, especially if my feet get frosty. Then, I get sluggish and cranky which is not a good combination--just ask poor hubby, who's spent more than one evening trying to deal with my cold-foot induced bad moods!

Never fear though, spring is just around the corner--we'll be seeing buds on trees and blooming flowers before you know it

"Brrr..." is right, Pat
That was a particularly well-described memory of your own to share with me.  It reminded me of long nights walking shifts of guard duty while stationed in Germany.  Even in the summer the nights were uncomfortably coolish.  In the winter, with snow and ice on the ground, and more falling to numb me to the bones through gloves and boots, I would wonder if I'd ever get warm again.  All I wanted to do was huddle over a hot stove while extra hot coffee warmed my hands and insides.  Your comments do bring back many memories...and a desire for a hot cup of coffee.  I just finished off the old pot.  I think I'll put another on right away.

Thanks, sam
That makes two of us.  Of course I'll probably be grumping about how hot it is in the ol' sweatbox in just a few months.  I enjoy complaining on occasion.  But I like warm and can stand cool and hot.  Cold, however, comes close to incapacitating me.  When I complain and gripe about the cold I really am complaining.

I don't think there's anything more miserable than being cold and wet
and not being able to warm up. Camped out on Beverly Beach on the Oregon coast once, warm enough during the day, but in a tent with runoff from high ground burbling under your canvas floor, rain on the roof wasn't all that musical and enchanting. We didn't attempt the camp stove and coffee when dawn came. We headed for the nearest cafe and huddled over our cups until the fog burned off, and then went back and wrapped it up. Your descriptive writing brought back this memory, and now I've got to go make a pot of coffee. Brrr..

I can't wait until it warms up for you myself!  sam
