I hope your friend makes a full recovery.
And no, my life doesn't parallel as yours does, but there have been coincidences and threads -- seems we're all part of the universe's patterns, fractals, and structures.

In smaller doses, not the magnitude of your encounter. I find it horrible that people of influence and aim to do well are the targets of the craziness of the world. I shall put him in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Thank you for sharing this experience. sam

It is fortunate he could be transferred to Darwin.

may I recommend this radio programme that you can download to your computer or
listen to on the computer. It a programme about global news and thought - has some very good guests. The presenter Phillip Adams, has a deep interest in East Timor, and if you look to the right of the page you will see the link to East Timor programmes made recently.
As for parallel lives, in many ways. I used to work at a leading international newspaper and
so I often hear about parallel people just by switching on the radio, or going to a book store.
