Yul Brynner and Kojak were formidable looking gents! Mr T looked half-formidable! I'd say grow with age but keep the shine with olive oil!

That's great stuff!
As an addition to the vanity thing, I once had an elder cousin who seemed to believe that he could pull off a temporary, self-performed face lift at social functions -- he would scotch tape his jowls back, thinking that no one could see the tape.
I swear I'm not making that up.
