It sounds like you're ready to write at all times. Thanks for the great comment. I love comments that would make great posts. "Especially liked the "poop in a group." I look forward to checking out your writing when I'm not freezing my behind off like tonight. Don't know how much longer I'm going to hang in here before I go hibernate.

I carry a notebook and pen at all times
I have a mini-book that fits perfectly in my purse, and never leave home without it. If a quote or word comes to me when I'm in the middle of the grocery store, I don't have to scramble for a scrap of paper, or try to commit it to memory. My hubby laughs when I'm getting ready to leave the house. I have to make sure I have the phone. Gotta find the smokes. And for the love of God, where'd the notebook go? Without fail, it takes me 15 minutes to get my "poop in a group"!
I also keep a book beside my bed. I tend to have very vivid dreams, many of which have the skeletons for great stories. I write them down as soon as I wake up, before the details get lost or disappear altogether.

Good idea for putting the fishing vast to another use. I used to use my old Army field jacket for a similar purpose in my early sports writing days. It was also handy for carrying a miniature cassette recorder and my extra camera lenses, telephoto converted, flash, and other useful accessories. In those bygone days when I had a good camera and digital photography was still well into the future I took pictures, too, and was properly classified as a photojournalist.

Thank you for the great tips. I try to have paper and pencil handy as well. I do write when the Spirit moves me. When I go for long periods I grab my fishing vest which I have turned into a writers vest and I have a lot of things handy all the time. sam
