I'm glad you enjoyed this little slice of real-life drama from the non-poet.

The quick response time and overall competence of the responding fire departments was what impressed me the most. I also liked the thoroughness with which they checked for hot spots to make sure nothing would flair up later. I'm truly thankful for devoted fire departments and their dedicated firefighters, mostly volunteers, who give so much of themselves with very little thanks.

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the read and the kind comments. And no, no one was hurt other than hot feet from the necessity of standing on hot, scorched earth to fight areas of the fire, and very minor smoke inhalation. And yes, cleanup was quite a job. A welcome one, though, since everything except for grass, shrubs, and part of the trailer skirting was saved.

Great narrative! Wonderful use of detail and sensory clues.
Good thing nobody was hurt. Nobody was hurt, were they? I'll bet cleanup was a pain in the neck. :)
