Damfool Doctor! Sue him for Malpractise.
He should have at least offered you crutches (you'd have to buy them, but...). Honestly. Hugs to your neighbor, and lucky you for not having to pay $100 for a pair of crutches.
As for the intnesified pain, this is normal. As the nerves and muscles heal around the place where the break is, it hurts like hell. I've broken both my arms (at different times, and one of them in three places) so I know. It is incredible, the pain; take a good stong OTC painkiller like Percogesic and elevate your footie. Hot chocolate (to drink, not as a foot bath) also helps.

I know it's your fault that I broke my foot! You were so angry with me that I didn't take you sailing and that I had more fun with a deaf guy than I'd ever have with you that you sent me negative thoughts with caused me to break my foot!
So don't you go pretending to be sorry now buddy!
