Thank you for this bit of information. I didn't look at it this way. Of course we only wanted to be in the waiting room part not into the ER itself. I do also know that a lot of people are only there because they want the attention. There are other ways to do that.

Spitfire
Hi little mama. How is Spitfire, Jr? I can see where that is confusing. What I mean is I have lots of Jewish friends, (I spent 21 years in the clothing design business). I also have friends who are Messianic Jews and some family who are Proselyte as well as some who fit into all three categories. The part about the love of Jesus that is what motivates my work. This is not about me it is about a Holiday I celebrated for 50 years among all sorts of religions and nobody cared. You be blessed and hug that little sweetie and enjoy the Holidays for whatever!

And Justi....
..I'm certainly not saying you aren't a kind person, I was just asking the question as it confuses me why people feel so strongly about the "Merry Christmas" issue. We all spread love in different ways and the main thing is making sure we spread it and understanding that everyone doesn't (or isn't able to) accept it in the same way.

ED's can be funny about letting people back. Emotions are very high and oftentimes can interfere with treatment.
There are way too many people visiting the ED for chronic complaints, in my opinion. This really dampens the effectiveness of it for true emergencies.

Hi Justi,
I have no beef with people wishing Merry Christmas to others and I do think what you do at the hospital is very nice. One thing I wanna add, though. In your response to ginnieb's comment, you said, "Our Jewish friends and some family wish us happy Hanukkah and we give gifts then. All of this is about the love of Jesus." The last sentence is confusing to me.
I don't really see the harm in simply saying "Happy Holidays" to others in case you're not aware of their beliefs, if any at all. But, since I know you're a Christian, I am confident and happy to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

It is not about whether you are a Christian or not that I would wish you a joyous or blessed Christmas. Christmas is the name of the Season. It is to celebrate Christ's birthday it is certainly a tradition of the United States. Those who have come later will see this is one of our Holidays. Our Jewish friends and some family wish us happy Hanukkah and we give gifts then. All of this is about the love of Jesus. I would say Merry Christmas to any one I see the same way I would pour water on a burning person, not stop to ask if they were Christian. I show love and grace if you don't want it don't reciprocate, no hurt feelings here. We even say Happy Ground Hog Day.... What is it with people being offended at treated nicely?

But...what if they aren't Christian?
And what if they don't celebrate Christmas? It is the United States but that doesn't mean everyone worships the same God. I'm confused.
