I often wonder why people bother to have pets when they can't care for them
J and I often visit the local Craig's List page to see what animals are out there for adoption. I've lost count of how many posts I have seen in which people say they are giving away their pets because they are more work than the people originally thought. *sigh* Did these people not have pets as kids? Or, if they did, did their parents do all the work for them? I know when I was growing up with chickens, cats, a dog, a rabbit, a parrot, etc., I LEARNED what hard work it was to keep an animal, but also how rewarding it was as well!
